The Huawei Y5p offers durable construction with a modern design. The device is very lightweight, and it will not be a cause for hand fatigue. Huawei adorned the phone with a 5.45-inch IPS LCD display. (720 x 1440, 295 PPI, 18:9). Though it is just an HD+ IPS screen, it shows vivid, natural colours and makes every content enjoyable. But you may get problems with its thick bezels and 18:9 aspect ratio. Its sunlight visibility is average, and you won’t face any negativity issues on the panel. 

Chipset and Memory:

The Y5p is helming by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor. It is an octa-core CPU with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. (4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 + 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A53). Ram And Storage: The Huawei Y5p comes with 2GB of Ram and 32 GB of internal room.

The Helio P22 is a decent chipset for the mid-level task. It enables hassle-free everyday’s computing capability. You can play light games and can do multitasking with the chipset. All these are paper words. But the actual performance depends on optimization between software and hardware. In that case, the Huawei Y5p will manage your daily tasks but will struggle when you run heavy apps on it. Because- it got only 2 GB of Ram.

Camera:

Huawei attached only two cameras with the phone. On the rear side- you get an 8 MP wide-angle camera. And at the front- you get a 5 MP selfie lens. Camera Performance: Its 8 MP single rear camera capture clear photos in daylight. Its picture details, sharpness is average at this price. And in the nighttime, it performs below average. Same thing with the 5 MP selfie camera- it captures colourful photos in enough light but struggles in the low light situation.

Network and Connectivity, Sensors:

Establish a connection with the world with the fastest 4G, 3G, and 2G networks. Its 4G connectivity is reliable and will ensure a balanced downloading and web-browsing experience. The Y5P also brings- 3.5mm jack, Wi-Fi hotspot, Loudspeaker, FM radio, LED flash, micro-USB 2.0, Bluetooth 5.0, and A-GPS.

Sensors: It doesn’t feature a fingerprint sensor, and there is no information about Face-Unlock availability. Besides that, you will receive- Light sensor, Proximity sensor, and Accelerometer sensor on the Y5p.

Battery Backup and Operating System:

Huawei has delivered only a 3020 mAh battery to this device; and offered a regular 5W charger to re-charge it. Well, this small battery will struggle a lot to provide a full day backup in heavy usage. But you must get a full day charge back up if you use it for daily usage and light social media checkout. Its 12 nm chipset helps it to sustain for a long time. And this charger will consume nearly 2.5 hours to re-back your 100% charge.

OS: The Y5p runs on EMUI 10.1 along with Android 10. But you won’t get any of Google Play Services. Yes, Huawei developed its own app store. So you could download your favourite apps from it.

We can only recommend this mobile for day-to-day usage. Because- it got only two GB of ram, a small 5.45-inch display and an entry mid-level CPU. If you are a Huawei fan and decided to purchase a small, compact, durable device for your Mom/Dad, or as your second device- then this Huawei Y5p will be a decent choice for you.
