The Huawei Y9s is the latest smartphone to Huawei’s ‘Y’ line-up. The Y9s has got a shiny design along with a well-constructed body build that will sustain for a long time. The device is slightly thick and seems heavy, though it only has a 4,000 mAh battery. If you used to use a big phone, then this Y9s will give you a great in-hand feeling. Its mass is- 196 grams, and its shape dimensions are- 163.1 x 77.2 x 8.8 mm. The handset comes for purchase in two separate colours- Midnight Black and Breathing Crystal. 

Display: 

The smartphone is adorned with a 6.59-inch LTPS IPS LCD display. (1080 x 2340, 19:5:9, 391 PPI).

Its 6.59-inch IPS LCD display offers FHD+ resolution. Though it is not an AMOLED screen, it can exhibit pure colours and contrasts that almost seem like an AMOLED panel. Its rich and pure colour reproduction will mesmerise you while you watch your favourite movies and shows. Huawei delivered a triple camera system at the Y9s’ rear section- a 48 MP wide + 8 MP ultrawide + a 2 MP depth lens. For taking selfies: The smartphone got a 16 MP (f/2.2) pop-up selfie camera. 

Camera Performance: The 48 MP (f/1.8) rear camera is a sharp photo taker with substantial details- in any light conditions. It always captures colourful, vibrant images that are admirable from Huawei. Likewise, its 16 MP motorized pop-up selfie sensor- can provide you bright, sharp, well-detailed selfies whether it is day or night. According to the phone’s price, this type of camera performance is acceptable.

In this mid-range device, Huawei enabled 4g, 3g, and 2g connectivity for ensuring a reliable internet speed for hassle less e-streaming, downloading, browsing, gaming and more. The phone also supplies- an LED flashlight, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n- hotspot, a Loudspeaker, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, a 3.5mm jack, FM radio, and USB Type-C 2.0.

Sensors: Huawei Y9s contains a side-mounted fingerprint identifying sensor at the power button, which will unlock your device swiftly. Along with that, the phone also offers these primary sensors- Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Compass, Light Sensor, and Proximity sensor.

Huawei provided a 4,000 mAh battery attached with the phone, and to re-fulfil its charge- the brand given a 10W USB Type-C adapter. Well, this 4,000 mAh Li-Po cell can deliver a complete day’s battery life in medium usage. Huawei should have provided a 5,000 mAh battery at this cost. And its 10W fast charger- can charge up your device within just 1.5 hours.

OS: The Y9s runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with Huawei’s EMUI 9.1. The system UI offers lots of customizations, and it is easy to use. But please check the device before buying- it supports Google’s Play service or not.

Final Opinion:

If we take a glance at all the features of the Huawei Y9s, it seems overpriced in 2021. Though it offers a bright FHD+ display, powerful chipset and stunning cameras, the problem is its price tag. If Huawei could have brought this phone around 20,000 TK, then it would be reasonable for consumers. But, if you’re a Huawei fan and you loved these features- then you can buy this Huawei Y9s; it’s a decent mid-ranger.
