Design and Build Quality:
The Redmi 9 Prime has a plastic back and glass front combination (corning gorilla glass 3). The phone’s dimensions are 163.3 x 77 x 9.1 mm, and it is about 198 grams. Though It’s not all glass, the material is fit. And it doesn’t look cheap. Overall, the phone has an attractive, stylish design and a solid build quality.

Display:
In the display section, it has a 6.53-inch (19.5:9) IPS LCD (1080 x 2340, 395 PPI) water-drop notch display- with a 60 Hz refresh rate. The calculated screen-to-body ratio is 83.2%. This full HD+ IPS panel performs great, considering its price. It shows the natural color, and its balanced contrast level will amplify your content watching amusement.

Camera:
In the back, it features a quad-camera setup; 13 MP, f/2.2, 28mm (wide) + 8 MP, f/2.2, 118˚ (ultrawide) + 5 MP, f/2.4, (macro) + 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) camera. Coming to the front, it has a 8 MP selfie camera. All rear cameras can capture well-detailed photos in daylight, but in low light conditions, the camera performs average. Same history for the front camera. The overall camera is fine at this price point. We shouldn’t expect more.

Performance; CPU and Ram:
This phone is running on the latest MediaTek Helio G80 (12 nm) chipset. It has 8 cores based on Cortex-A75 and A-55. For GPU, it has- Mali-G52 MC2. And It has 4 GB of ram and 64/128 GB (eMMC 5.1) of internal storage. Mediatek Helio G80 is a low-mid-range gaming processor. It is tested and its benchmark score is impressive. That means you will be able to play online games in medium graphics. And in day-to-day tasks, you’ll not face any performance issues.

Battery and backup:
A big 5020 mAh (non-removable) Li-Po battery and an 18W USB type-C fast-charger have been given to power the phone. Well, the 12 nm power-efficient chipset consumes less power. And for that reason, its big battery can easily sustain for an entire day. And its 18W fast charger takes almost 2 hours to get a full charge.

Network and Connectivity:
This phone supports 4G, 2G, 3G, networks. It also has Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, USB Type-C 2.0, USB On-The-Go, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Sensors:
It has a rear-mounted Fingerprint Sensor, an accelerometer, proximity, and a compass sensor.

Operating System:
You will find Android 10 with MIUI 11 out of the box. And it’s upgradable to Android 11, MIUI 12.

Final Opinion:
If you’re looking for a phone which will handle your gaming needs in medium graphics- and will help you to do your day-to-day tasks within this budget- then you can buy this phone. It’s a budget mid-range phone.
